Capri before the seven o'clock boat. The Piazzetta is still empty; the bougainvillea on the wall of a closed café has been pink for a hundred years and intends to continue. You take the path down toward the Faraglioni with a coffee and the short set on — sleeves above the elbow, a loose short cut to mid-thigh, a silk so lightly woven it behaves almost like cotton until it catches the breeze and remembers what it is.
